Officers and Teachers may now purchase a property
off the General List and still receive a 50% discount. Certain conditions
apply:
- The property is located in a HUD-designated revitalization area.
- No other acceptable offers have been received.
The officer or teacher must submit a contract bid
at 100% of the "Listed Price". When bids are submitted
by officers and teachers on properties in the General Property List that
are above or below 100% of the list price, they will be treated as standard
"owner/occupant" bids and will not be eligible for the 50% OND/TND discount.
The 50% discount will be applied at closing.
Governmental agencies and school districts are restricted to the initial
five-day offering period.
To place a bid:
Go to the Available Properties Section, select
the city that you are interested in and locate the property. Note that
for properties located in HUD-designated revitalization areas, there are
2 available buttons in order to place a bid:
- For Officers/Teachers
submitting bids for themselves, the button is "Officers/Teachers
Bid".
- For
Real Estate Brokers submitting
bids for the Officers/Teachers
and the general public, the button
is "Submit Bid".
